Good review with enough detail to get you going. Makes you want to buy some tools or take his course.
I found this to be an excellent video. I learned many things that will help me for many days to come in making Damascus. My only complaint is that it is sometimes hard to hear him because of the forge in the back ground.
Very informative DVD. Ed does a beautiful job of explaining the art of Demascus. The sound could be better, but don't let that stop you from viewing this well done presentation.
An interesting video. No fluff, lots of tips, there are also DVD extras that are worth reading and viewing. I have yet to try forging anything, but hope to work up to it eventually. He does rely heavily on a pneumatic press and occassionally a power hammer.
I enjoyed it thoroughly, It's just beyond my skill level and equipment level for now.
Outstanding from start to finish. The man has smooth and intelligent delivery. Good information is provided for the beginner.
The only short coming is not the artists fault. He has access to awesome power tools.
I enjoyed this video. It was a good overview of pattern welded steel and I would recommend it to anyone who is not already familiar with the process. I can't say that I really learned much that was new to me but I got a kick out of watching what he did rather than what he was saying. All in all it isn't all that complicated a task and watching it all done with that press made me jealous. Certainly looks like the way to go if you can manage it.
GOOD DVD, VERY INFORMATIONAL, BUT NOT FOR THE SOME ONE JUST STARTING OUT.
It's a pretty good video as far as showing how to make the different patterns of damascus. But I don't have the power equipment that Ed has. I wish he had a video showing how to use just a plain old hammer, since not everybody has a hydraulic press and a power hammer. Overall good video.
